eFIL assisted in the opening of FilCom's exhibit of prints by Philippine writer and komiks artist, Francisco V. Coching (1919-1998). In addition to the presence of family members from the Philippines and Maui, Francisco's wife and lifelong assistant, Filomena "Luming" Navales Coching, graciously autographed prints. A Family Collection Preservation Workshop (see May 31, 2008) was conducted at UH Kauai Community College in Lihue, Kauai. Workshop was part of the KCC Pamantasan Club's recognition of Filipino American History Month.

As part of Filipino American History Month activities, Gina Vergara-Bautista and Clement Bautista (with Eriza Bareng) assembled an exhibit on Filipino veterans of Hawaii entitled, Hawaii's Filipino and Filipino American Veterans: A Legacy of Valor and Loyalty.
