GIVING
Unlike conventional archives, eFIL is entirely digitally-based, in collecting, processing and making accessible to the public. By preserving the past in this way, archived materials will not be stored in their original form but will be digitalized and returned to their original owners.
Much of eFIL's collection will expanded by loans from generous individuals, families or organizations who wish to preserve and make publicly accessible the written, printed, oral and visual history of their experiences. eFIL welcomes the opportunity to acquire the use of additional and appropriate historical materials to continue building our digital collections.
Types of materials to consider to donate their use include (and are not limited to) the following:
Personal Papers
Family letters, diaries or journals, birth certificates, marriage records, scrapbook materials, oral histories or memoirs, legal records, photographs and photo albums
Business Papers
Correspondence, ledgers, financial records, legal records, flyers, menus, business cards, photographs and photo albums
Printed Materials
Newspapers, books, pamphlets, posters, maps
Literary Productions/Writings
Essays, poetry and fiction, memoirs, oral histories, speeches
Organizational Records
Charters, membership lists, minutes, yearbooks, programs, press releases, correspondence, newsletters, brochures, business cards, photographs and photo albums
Religious Materials
Records, programs, brochures, bulletins, prayer books, hymnals, flyers, posters, menus, photographs and photo albums
Sound Materials
Music on disc, cassette tapes, sheet music, oral history interviews
Artistic Materials
Posters, drawings, photographs
